THIS IS A WONDERFUL WORK, THE TIME AND SONG BRING IT ALL TOGETHER. THANK YOU FOR YOU WONDERFUL INSIGHT. WE STILL HAVE TIME, IF WE ALL TRY. WE MUST SAVE THE EARTH, OUR MOTHER, THE GIVER OF LIFE….”MOTHER EARTH”

    • Krell says:

Thank you, Betty. I think we do have some time left to turn it around but it will take some hard choices and some leadership.

  2. It’s stunning …. and it’s so very accurate, not only does our Earth Mother “HURT”…. we are all in a pain we have long forgotten the bliss without… a clean breath, a swim that heals, a fish from a stream. Can we please, o Earth and Sky, can we please begin to heal our Mother? Thank you David. And on Ahau 13….. The Ancestors smile on you.

    • Krell says:

It tells a painful story by images. I had hoped that, just like other addictions, a rock bottom had been reached. What they call “a moment of clarity” with the BP disaster. Unfortunately, instead of opening our eyes and pointing us in the right direction, it was just more denial and fooling ourselves. I’ve seen it before… I think a lot of us have.

You know this is originally a Nine inch nails song right? Anyhoo back to the hurting of the earth, we have got to do our own part in our own ways and lead by example. I’ve given many here before but I will keep on keeping on giving them. Use reusable bags ANY time you go shopping. Give up meat one, two days a week, give up driving your vehicle if you can one day a week. If you can’t do a ride share and route your errands so as not to use up resources foolishly, as but a tiny way to do things differently.

Just in case any of you ask, I did not make it to the Oakland protests yesterday. Made it as far as downtown Oakland and the city pavement gave me a welcome I was not expecting upon exit from mah vehicle :( . Consequently, I ended up in a hospital’s ER (thks to a kind stranger for driving my car and me there) and am now sporting a cast on my leg this morning. I’m fine, just a little embarrassed that a pavement was my downfall, after all the other stoopit shit I have done that could have hurt me and hasn’t, up til this point.

Jess, poor thing – I’m so sorry to hear that! Don’t stress about not being there at all, just heal up and be careful! Check it out, I was standing right next to Boots Riley there (now I know why they call him Boots).

    • Krell says:

That’s some bad news, Jess. Good that you had the kindness of the stranger to take you to the ER and it wasn’t a situation of just getting out of a taxicab or something like that. Take it easy and have the hubby fan you with big palm leaves while bring you chocolate.. or whatever.

    • Morgalla says:

(Yeah, I knew ;) ) As David worked on this, our daughter (a huge NIN fan) was in in the room most of the time listening to it play over and over in the background as he edited it. Even she did not recognize the song. As much as I love the original, it is much effective in this form. I could not watch the last quarter. It is appalling. Each video gets better and better, as an art form it is very evocative. I can’t imagine anyone who would not be moved by watching this.

So sorry to hear about your leg! I recommend getting a cane with a sword in it. You know….for the protection and the awesomeness.

      • Jess says:

Of course you did, yer mah sister from another mother so I would expect you would. I get you as far as not watching, it’s depressing as all hell to watch this little blue ball we call home be destroyed and feel helpless. It’s that nerdy engineer fellow you live with, I was wondering about ;) I have crutches and bonus, a longer reach to hit people with. See, I’m always about the bright side of things.

I was actually thinking what other videos could have been used with those pictures and surprisingly enough, Michael Jackson came to mind with the Heal the World, We are the children and that man in the mirror music selections. Even though I wasn’t a really big fan of his music, he did do some good stuff. Any one of those could be used for a multitude of things up to and including destruction of the planet caused by us human animals.

    • Take care of your leg Jess. Sorry to hear. Be safe and well. Good advice on the life adjustments. :-)

A wonderful piece of work. Krell, I also had hoped that we had hit bottom with the Gulf oil spill. Now, I wonder what horror it will take for us to actually hit bottom. I agree with Gwen’s post entirely.

  5. osori says:

This is beautiful, and painful man. You’re really good at this – Hold Our Heads High was classic, and should have gone viral, it’s that good.

  6. Tee says:

Wow…speechless Krell…and so sorry Jess, get well and heal soon :)

  7. Diane Gee says:
